Cortez Ricole Shyne also known as, "Skinny" was born on December 12th, 1989 to Katherine Shyne and Curtis Mitchem in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the youngest son and child of six children. Cortez was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Mitchem. Cortez was a faithful servant of the Lord and accepted Christ as his savior at an early age.
Cortez attended school in the Kansas City Missouri Public School District. He worked for a few companies throughout the metropolitan area with his last employer being, “Z-Trip”.
Cortez loved being around family and friends. He was the life of the party and always made sure to make everyone laugh. Cortez loved playing football ever since he was a little boy and enjoyed watching it ever chance he could get. Cortez made a huge impact on everyone and always provided words of encouragement every time you saw him. Cortez thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his mother and making sure all her needs were met. Cortez also loved to talk on facetime with daughter, Carter and watch her make TikToks.
Cortez received his wings on Thursday, January 23rd 2025.
Cortez leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Katherine Shyne; one daughter, Carter Mckinzy; three brothers, Curtis Elbert, Christopher Shyne (Willana), Carlos (TeLae); two sisters, Crystal Shyne, Tamiko Shyne (Michael) all of Kansas City, Missouri; Aunties, Uncles and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Cortez R. Shyne will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025, visitation will be from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M. with services beginning at 10 A.M. at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church located at 4301 Wasbash Ave. Kansas City, Missouri 64130.
Interment : Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo
