Stephen “Cory” Floyd, age 55, a resident of Linden, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, with Rick Points officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Cory was born in Panama Canal Zone and was the son of the late Tommy Lewis Floyd and Sherry Gail Haywood Owens. Growing up in a military family, he spent his childhood moving frequently and attended high school in Frankfort, Germany, later graduating in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, where he earned his electrical license. Cory worked as an electrician throughout his life, most recently with Stones River Electric.
He loved spending time on the Tennessee River, boating and fishing, and was an avid Tennessee football fan. Cory often spoke fondly of his beloved dog, Ricky, who preceded him in death. He shared a close bond with his brother, Shane, who will miss him deeply.
Cory is survived by his mother, Gail (Dane) Owens of Melbourne, Florida; daughter, Kayla Fleming; brother, Shane Floyd (Callie Owen Roberts) of Columbia, Tennessee; nephews, Dalton Floyd and Colton Floyd; nieces, Christyn Floyd and Faith Floyd; and several grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Doug Johnson, Eric Phillips, Bubba Lee, Eddie Sharp, David Brady, John Brady, Ronnie Thurman, and Dennis Weatherford.
