Cory Scott Ptaszynski

Cory was born in Detroit, Michigan and was one of four children and the third son to Stan Ptaszynski and Sharon Ptaszynski (Burke). His siblings are Michael Ptaszynski, Jason Ptaszynski and Rachael (Ptaszynski) Johnson. He was married to Fabiola Hernandez, a native of Honduras, and friend and surrogate father to Fernando Hernandez, Fabiola's son. He was also the stepson to Mary Friend and stepbrother to Shannon Deeds and Stephanie Parce. Cory spoke fluent Spanish, which he developed while he courted his wife. He was a highly skilled and self-taught mechanic and problem solver. Cory's past time activities included a love for skateboarding, snowboarding and disc golf, all of which he thoroughly enjoyed participating in with his many friends. Cory was adventurous, migrating west, seeing much of the mid-west and northern plains, finally settling in Salinas, California. While in California, he enjoyed outdoor activities with friends until deciding to return to Maryland where he settled down to begin his career and marry the love of his life. Cory was a gentle soul who captured the hearts and affection of all those whom he came to know. Cory will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and considered him their friend and/or family. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend who is loved by many. Rest in Peace Cory.
