Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castle Ridge Mortuary - West Military Dr. on Oct. 1, 2025.
Cory Alexander Trabue, a cherished educator, musician, and beloved family member, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 21, 2025, at the age of 27. Born on April 27, 1998, in
San Antonio, Texas, Cory's infectious enthusiasm for life and learning made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A graduate of Texas Lutheran University, Cory excelled in his studies, graduating with honors in music education. His academic achievements were further highlighted by certifications in mathematics, ESL/supplemental, and music. Cory's passion for education was evident through his dedication to teaching algebra to 8th, 9th, and 11th-grade students. He also shared his love for music as an assistant band director, inspiring young minds to appreciate the beauty and discipline of the musical arts. He was the former president of his beloved fraternity Kapa Kapa Psi.
He is survived by his mother Michelle and father Alonzo, step-sisters and brothers Candace, Tasha, Antione and Alonzo Jr. Who will miss him dearly.
In his spare time, Cory could often be found immersed in music or engrossed in a good movie or TV series. His interests were a reflection of his engaging personality, and he always had a recommendation at the ready for anyone seeking a new tune to hum or a story to get lost in.
As we celebrate Cory's life and the time we were fortunate enough to share with him, we are reminded of a quote by the great composer Johann Sebastian Bach: "Music is an agreeable harmony for the honor of God and the permissible delights of the soul." Cory lived by these words, creating harmony wherever he went and delighting in the joy he brought to others.
Cory's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring power of education. He believed in the potential of every student and worked tirelessly to help them discover their own passions and strengths. His absence leaves a silence that will be deeply felt by his family, friends, students, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
We take solace in the knowledge that Cory's influence will resonate for years to come, in the lives of the many students he taught and the hearts of those he touched. As we say goodbye to Cory Alexander Trabue, we hold tight to the memories and the music he left behind. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose and melody, and he will be profoundly missed.
An Educational Memorial Scholarship will be set up in Cory's Honor.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared in the "Share a Memory" section on this obituary page.
"Some Day"
When my journey is o'er
I shall pass over to the other shore
There I shall be free from sorrow and pain
And be united with love ones again
What a joyful time it will be
When the faces of "Dear Ones" I shall see.
Many that left me years ago
We shall meet to part no more
How glad I shall be to clasp their hand
When we meet in Beulah land,
There God shall wipe away all tears
And I shall feel no more fears.
How happy will be our meeting When we exchange greetings
Our joys will know no bounds
There peace and happiness will be found
Rejoicing in God's eternal love
In our Heavenly home above.
