In loving memory of Coy Sharp, who has gone to that great Harbor Freight in the sky, where all the tools are perpetually on clearance and every project gets finished... eventually.

A proud Coast Guard veteran who never met a broken thing he couldn't fix (or at least offer detailed advice about fixing), Coy lived life with a wrench in one hand and a sense of humor in the other. He had an uncanny ability to spot treasure in other people's trash, turning dumpster diving into an art form that would have made the Red Green Show proud.

When he wasn't hunting for deals at Harbor Freight or sharing his encyclopedic knowledge of concrete, Coy could be found giving tractor rides to his beloved grandchildren, watching Looney Tunes cartoons (which he claimed were "educational programming"), or dreaming about classic cars – especially his namesake Shelby Mustangs. He was a devoted fan of National Geographic, harbored a deep love for Hawaii, and maintained a special relationship with the catfish and celery at Golden Moon.

Coy approached life with a perfect blend of sarcasm and sincerity, occasionally seasoned with a dash of grumpiness. He was the kind of man who would help you fix your problems while simultaneously making you laugh about them.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelby and husband, Kobi Perdue; son, Rod Sharp; brother, Jimmy Sharp and wife, Kittie Sharp; sister, Sharon Karnes and husband, Randy (RC) Karnes; grandchildren, Sydney Sharp, and Nora, Owen, and Wyatt Perdue; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; a few good friends; and his faithful companion, Roxy, who will deeply miss their dumpster diving adventures together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dottie Sharp.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Coy's memory by starting a project you have no intention of finishing, watching a Looney Tunes marathon, or helping a neighbor fix something while providing detailed commentary on all the ways they could have prevented the problem in the first place.

His family will forever cherish the memory of this wonderful man who taught us that anything can be fixed with enough duct tape, determination, and detailed instructions – even if those instructions were occasionally delivered with a grumpy smile.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery pavilion, in Dallas, Texas.
