Calvin "CR" Richard Funk Jr. 59, of Deltona, Florida, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 in Orange City, Florida. He was born October 6, 1965 in St. Joseph, son of the late Barbara and Calvin Funk. CR graduated from Benton High School, class of 1983. He spent the last 30 plus years in Florida, where he worked as a Building Inspector for Volusia County, and also a Shop Teacher at New Smyrna Beach High School. CR was also a long time Roofing Contractor. CR was an avid KC Chiefs fan, he loved his Harley Davidson's, and spending time on the road, going to the ocean, Alligator Hunting, and most of all, enjoyed being a Paw-Paw. He was an active member of Grace Life Church, where he enjoyed being a part of his Men's Bible Study Group. CR was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Trickett, nephew, Tommy Higdon, and an infant grandson. Survivors include: his children, Danielle Funk, Doug (Nicole) Funk, Casey (Milena) Funk, Christian (Lauren) Funk, Mike (Melia) Funk of FL, the mother of his children and former wife, Terri Funk, all of Florida, sisters, Connie (Birt) Shirey and Roxanna (Bob) Kerns, brother, Rich Funk, brother-in-law, Dennis Trickett, all of St. Joseph, several grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Funk has been cremated. A Memorial Service will be 7:00 PM Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Pastor Jim Barnett, officiating. Memorials are requested to the New Smyrna Beach High Scholarship Fund to be designated to a student going to a trade school.
