Craig Steen Bentlage, age 65, of Belle, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehab.

Craig was born May 20, 1959, in Rolla, a son to the late George and Loretta (Baumgartner) Bentlage.

He was a lifelong area resident and a 1977 graduate of Belle High School.

Craig had been employed at Quaker windows for a time as well as Invacare in Belle. Craig also cut wood for a living which was something he enjoyed as he liked being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, doing word search books, and playing his Pac-Man game. Craig liked watching WWE and Nascar. Bill and Chase Elliot were his favorite drivers. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always telling jokes even up to the end. Craig loved everyone and never met a stranger as he would strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved watching his son Zach play baseball and his best times were spent in the company of his children. He will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved him.

Craig is survived by: three children, Sydney Bentlage of Jefferson City, Zach Bentlage of Jefferson City, and Molly Bentlage of Jefferson City; one brother, Robbie Bentlage of Belle; two nephews, Tanner Bentlage and Daxton Bentlage; and two nieces, Casey Bentlage and Brogan Bentlage as well as many extended family members and friends.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, George and Loretta Bentlage.

In keeping with Craigs wishes, he was cremated, and no services are planned.
