In remembrance of Craig Alan Drummond
Craig was born on October 12, 1973 in Denver, Colo. He died in Bakersfield, Calif. on July 23, 2024. He was 50 years old. Using one of Craig's '' favorite words "Awesome" would describe his childhood and young adult years in Arvada, Colo. He was always happy with lots of friends and busy mostly in sports.
He was a natural athlete at any sport he chose! Those included skateboarding, football, baseball, soccer, basketball, bowling, rollerblading, and swimming. He skied on ice, sand, and water (+surfing). However, his favorite sports were Ice Hockey and Snow Skiing!! He played ice hockey for an Arvada team for about two years. When he started, all the other hockey players had 10-12 years experience, but he caught up to their skills in one year. Snow skiing was his most favorite sport. He started at age 3 at Geneva Basin with most of his skiing at Keystone and Winter Park.
He loved finding out of the way big jumps. Two of his favorite ski areas were Grand Targhee in Wyoming and Squaw Valley in California (where he worked an taught skiing). Also Fishing and backpacking were big part of Craig' life. Once he backpacked a two wheel scooter up to a high lake so he could coast back down the trail. He was the first one back to camp! A lot of his working life was in construction.
He was preceded ln death by both sets of Grandparents Howell and Alvina Drummond and Margo and Lena Padilla and his mother Ann Theresa Padilla (Drummond). (2012). Also by his stepbrother Matt Hoffman (2000) and an uncle Leroy Gonzales.
He is survived by His Father James Drummond (& his wife Janet), Aunts Yvonne Burns and Conchita Gonzales, Uncles Marty Padilla, Larry Padilla, and Bob Drummond and favorite Cousins Kevin Burns, Renee Burns, Steve Burns, Brian Burns, and Chris Burns (+ many more).There will be no funeral service. Celebrate his life by doing something Craig would have enjoyed!
