Visit the Rochester Cremation - Henrietta website to view the full obituary.
Craig passed away surrounded by his family on 2/27/24 after a heroic battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barb, children Lindsey (Cory) Pindroh, and Corey (Mary) Evans, grandchildren Stevie, Corbin, Andy, Mariana, and Calla, Parents Bob and Joy Evans, mother-in-law Billie Sue McCauley, sisters Tracy (Rick) Falvo, Karen (Terrie) Clarke, sister-in-law Rena LaBue, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Our family wishes to thank Roswell Park Cancer Center for their superior care.
Craig was born in Hamilton, NY, and was raised in New Hartford, NY. In high school, he excelled as both a student and an athlete. From there he earned his bachelor's degree from Oneonta State and continued his studies at New England College of Optometry where he earned his doctorate. He went on to practice at Reed Eye Associates for over 30 years. During that time, he enjoyed the people he treated, and many became more than just patients, but friends.
Craig was devoted not only to his immediate family but also to his extended family and friends. His example and influence touched all who were privileged to know him.
Craig had many loves beyond his family. His family camp on Trout Lake was one of his favorite places. He loved being on the golf course and enjoyed Syracuse Basketball. He loved music and had an extensive collection of albums and CDs. He thoroughly enjoyed trips to the Caribbean, Margaritaville, and decorating for holidays.
A remembrance gathering will be held at Ridgemont Country Club on Sunday, March 3 from 2pm-4pm. Please join us to remember Craig and honor his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Craig's memory to Roswell Park Cancer Center at roswellpark.org

Thinking about Craig and know he was out there golfing with Doug on his birthday yesterday. He may be gone, but will never be forgotten. He could light up a room and know he will be a light wherever he goes. Love to you Barb and the whole family. Love Eileen

I was shocked and sadden to hear of Dr. Evans passing. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his wife and family. I was a patient of Dr. Evans for over 20 years. He was always smiling, friendly and engaging. With all the patients he saw on a regular basis, he always remembered something about me and would inquire about it on my yearly visits.
Praying that his family and friends are comforted by the memories of this wonderful man.

It was always great seeing Craig up at the lake. Always helping and when done with work knew how to turn on the fun! Always upbeat and caring. Hope he and Doug are having some good laughs in heaven about all their adventures together. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Love is stronger than sorrow!
May all your fond memories sustain the entire family, know you have many.
Hugs to all, Eileen

Craig was one of my grad students at the New England College of Optometry. I also hired him to work with me & my team at the Genesee Valley Group Health Association in Rochester. He was a class act and will be missed by many. RIP.
