Craig Hershel of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025. He was 50 years old.

Born in Portage, Pennsylvania, Craig was preceded in death by his father, David Anthony Hershel, and his grandmother, Mary Pierce. He is survived by his devoted wife Rosa (Quintero) Hershel; his two beloved sons, Christopher (CJ) and Craig Jr.; his mother, Kathryn Hershel; and his brothers, James Albright, Chris Albright, and David Hershel-all of Virginia Beach.

Craig was a proud, loving father and husband whose life revolved around his family. His unwavering commitment to their happiness and success was evident in every decision he made. He was also a dedicated entrepreneur, serving as co-founder and General Manager of Diversified Building Services, Inc. and DBS Staffing, alongside his brother Chris, for 27 years. Craig received his bachelor's degree in political science and government from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA in 1998.

A lifelong history enthusiast, Craig was a member of the Civil War Historical Society and spent countless weekends exploring the historical triangle in Williamsburg, Virginia. His sharp eye for detail and passion for accuracy often led to spirited conversations with curators and tour guides. He was also an avid sports fan, cheering faithfully for Penn State athletics and the New Orleans Saints.

Craig lived simply, honestly, and with deep gratitude. His genuine smile, generous spirit, and quiet strength touched hundreds of lives. He will be remembered as someone who gave his best to everyone around him-truly the best of the best.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 1-2 PM, at River Oak Church, 255 Great Bridge Boulevard, Chesapeake, VA. The service will follow the visitation, also at the church at 2 PM. The burial will follow the funeraL at Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA. To leave a condolence to the family please visit Grahamfuneralhome.com
