Craig Matuszewski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home & Crematorium on Jun. 25, 2025.
Craig Bernard Matuszewski, age 71, was the beloved husband to Irene Calzadilla, cherished son of the late Harry and the late Virginia Matuszewski, devoted father of Dan (Izzy Caldwell) Matuszewski and Jeff Matuszewski, proud granddad of Dean Bernard Matuszewski, step-dad to Zeli Rodriguez, Richard (Samantha) Montgomery, Miguel (Vanessa) Montgomery, and Joey (Nina) Gonzalez, dear brother to the late Gary Matts and brother-in-law to his wife Kathy Matts, brother-in-law to Michael, Delia, and Ketty, fond uncle of Janine (his goddaughter), Kevin, and Karen Matts, and friend and cousin of many.
Craig was a proud alum of Lane Tech High School and he stayed in close contact with his football teammates who ultimately became his great team of friends. For many years, he held his Illinois State Broker's License. Craig loved the great outdoors, especially when traveling to Traverse City, Michigan. He loved hiking, biking, kayaking, or anything that involved nature, especially being by the water. He enjoyed traveling throughout the states and visiting Puerto Rico with Irene. Craig loved all types of food and he enjoyed firing up the grill for his family. Above all and most importantly, Craig's family meant the world to him. He will be dearly missed by them all.
