Craig L. Mendenall, 58, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:20 pm June 4, 2023 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born March 14, 1965 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Jack and Lilia (Burgess) Mendenall. Craig married Staci (Snyder) Mendenall on June 4, 2011.
In addition to his beloved wife of twelve years, Craig is survived by his children, Brittany Hosselton and husband, Trevor of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Haley Wright of Owensboro, Kentucky, Amber Nelson and fiancé, Jeremy Turner of Keokuk, Iowa; grandchildren, Aleyna, Christian, Owen, Briley, Hayden, and Bronson; brother, Chris Mendenall and wife, Teresa of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and sister, Andrea Prichard of Florida.
In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Craig was an active member and past exalted ruler of Mount Vernon Elks Lodge #819. He enjoyed his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Craig loved riding his motorcycles, watching wrestling and cardinals baseball. He loved live music and attending concerts. Craig was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Craig's honor to the American Kidney Fund.
