With deep sadness, Craig Overholt passed away unexpectedly at his Palmetto Bay home Monday March 3, 2025. Craig was born on November 22, 1958, he was 66 years old.
He was the middle of 5 children to parents Donna and Rod E. Overholt, brother to Rod Overholt Jr, John Overholt, and sisters Janel Wright of Miami and Sherry Velta of Ryebrook, New York. He is survived by his two sons Gregory Matson Overholt, Christopher Scott Overholt and Cristhel Overholt of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Craig grew up in Pinecrest, Fl and went to Palmetto Sr. High School and graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. After college Craig went to work for General Contractor MR Harrison as an Estimator and in 1996 went on to start his own company Overholt Construction with his father Rod and brother Rod Overholt. Overholt was a successful family owned construction company known for various commercial and resdential projects. Craig was president of Overholt Construction for 29 years.
Craig was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a big Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed collecting Nascar and other Sports memorabilia and going to the local races in Homestead and Daytona Beach, Fl.
A celebration of his life will be held on May 31, 2025 at 1-3 pm, services will be at Stanfill Funeral home on 10545 S Dixie Hwy Miami, Fl. If you would like to make a donation In lieu of flowers, please refer to the link below at (National Alliance on Mental Illness) NAMI:
