Craig Pfeffer, 75 of Burt, passed away at the Kossuth Regional Health Center on Friday, January 9, 2025. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lentz Funeral Home in Burt. Inurnment will take place at Burt Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM at Lentz Funeral Home in Burt. Services have been entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of Burt. Online condolences may be left at www.lentzfuneralhome.com.
Craig Michael Pfeffer, the son of Henry and Verna (Eischen) Pfeffer, was born on February 6, 1950 in Algona, Iowa at St. Ann's Hospital. He attended elementary schools at St. Benedict and graduated from Bishop Garrigan High School with the class of 1969. Craig furthered his education by attending Iowa Lakes Community College. On September 4, 1982, Craig was united in marriage to Barbara Hamilton at their home in Burt and later renewed their vows at St. Cecelia's in Algona, IA. Barb and Craig were the proud parents of two children, Amber and Patrick. Craig spent most of his career farming with his brothers, and was later a recycling collector for Waste Management.
Craig enjoyed playing cards, taking trips to the casino, fishing and camping.
Left to cherish Craig's memory are his children: Amber (Jason) Murra of Canyon, Texas and Patrick Pfeffer of Burt; five grandchildren: Jacob Murra, Makala Pfeffer, Carson Pfeffer, Cameron Murra, Autumn Poncin; great grandchild: Roan Poncin; siblings: Norma Murphy, Luke (June) Pfeffer, Henry Pfeffer and Lynn (Richard) Miller all of Algona along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Verna Pfeffer; wife: Barbara Pfeffer; brothers: Mark and Brian Pfeffer; in-laws: Robert and Mary Beth Hamilton and niece: Melissa Pfeffer.
