LEXINGTON: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2nd Tim. 4:7) As a husband, dad, son, engineer, and fellow Christian, Craig Redmond pursued Jesus in all areas of his life. Wise beyond his years, he was aware just how temporary this physical life can be. No longer bound by his earthly body, Craig entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2025. Craig passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father after suffering a stroke while on a business trip. He was 48.
Craig was born April 24, 1976 in
Mansfield, Ohio and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. He continued his education at Ohio Northern University pursuing a degree in engineering. Craig first met Amy Gross, a fellow freshman at Ohio Northern. The two dated throughout their time in college and were married June 6, 1998. Craig earned his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then earned his Masters of Business Administration from Ashland University.
Craig first began working for The Gorman Rupp Company as an intern while in college. Upon graduating college he began his career as project engineer. Craig was promoted to Engineering Manager overseeing engineering activities at Gorman Rupp's Main Plant. In 2010 he was again promoted to Director of Engineering, the role he currently held. Over his career he was instrumental in obtaining numerous work patents. Craig was a courageous and caring leader bringing years of engineering experience to his colleagues.
Although a gifted engineer, Craig's faith in the Lord was paramount. He was a spiritual leader who loved to preach and considered it a solemn duty to carefully explain God's Word. His messages were clear, concise and thought provoking. Craig's indepth studies often included multiple Bibles and concordances as he prepared his sermons. Craig's Christian walk was a daily routine. Upon waking each morning he would pour a hot cup of coffee and would read Scripture. He had a way of expressing verses in a clear and compelling way. It truly was a gift. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
Craig was his family's protector and provider. He brought stability, and Christian love and guidance to his wife and children. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, wisdom and steadfast love of Jesus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Amy Redmond; daughter Allison Redmond; son Andrew Redmond; mother and stepfather Cynthia and Tom Schwall; brother and sister-in-law Shane Redmond and KatieAnn Skogsberg; aunt Shelley Borkoski; and cousins Kristen Fulcher and Katie Hayward. He is also survived by his lovable cat Simon and dogs Reese and Nutmeg.
He was preceded in death by his father Terence Redmond; paternal grandparents Kimlin and Callie Redmond and maternal grandparents Lovie and Albert Wolfarth.
Craig's family invites loved ones to join them for calling hours at Snyder Funeral Homes Lexington Avenue Chapel on Tuesday, February 11 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, and again on Wednesday from 10-11am with a funeral service at 11am. Pastor Chad Berry officiating. Burial to follow at Lexington Cemetery. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve his family.
Craig's last act of earthly service was to donate several organs to save the lives of other people.
