John Craig Robinson of Charlotte North Carolina peacefully left us on June 18th, 2024, after battling multiple medical problems for many years. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Watson Robinson Jr. and his mother Shirley Gay Robinson from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife Judy, his children Andrew, Ashley, and Alex, his brothers Chuck (Vicky), Chris (Michelle), sister Amy (David), and his brother-in-law Tim (Cheryl). He is also survived by his nephews Chad (Holly), Colby (Emily), Josh (Kayla), Connor (Becky), Teyon (Shea), and nieces Kristen, Wynn, Margaret, Emily (Owen), and Erin.
Craig was born in Oklahoma City, OK. As Craig grew up, he became a star wrestler at the YMCA and then a Regional and State wrestling champion while at Casady High School. He graduated from Casady in 1979. Craig attended the University of Oklahoma where he pledged Delta Tau Delta fraternity and created lifelong friendships and memories. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1984. After working briefly in the Oklahoma oil fields, he returned to OU and received a Master of Business Administration. He accepted his first job with Arthur Andersen which sent him to many cities including Dallas, Miami, Chicago, and Columbia, SC. He joined NationsBank, now Bank of America in 1994. While working on a bank merger in Baltimore, MD he met his wife, Judy. They married on September 21, 1996 in Little Italy, Baltimore. Craig was a Senior Vice President and Associate of Bank of America for 30 years.
Craig was very involved in the lives of his children, from scouting campouts and lacrosse games to daddy-daughter recital dances. He was also involved their Church community of St. Peter Catholic Church where you could see him grilling hot dogs in the early days of the Garden of Eaten. He loved to work in the yard and play golf whenever he had the chance. Craig also loved his family time at their mountain house, The Barn, on Beech Mountain, NC where he taught his child how to snow ski. He participated on the board of the neighborhood Anne Heinig Memorial Park. Craig was always a sensitive and caring man, a mentor to many and his kindness was so obvious to all who knew and loved him. Craig will be tremendously missed.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 in the Chapel at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203
A luncheon will follow the service at the home of a family friend.

I met Craig when I took him Holy Communion from St. Peter. We had great conversations because we both had children attending Charlotte Catholic HS. Our daughter Molly was on the stage crew with their son. Also there was an Air Force connection somehow. Craig was delightful and loved receiving Our Lord in the Eucharist.
