Obituary of Craig Omer Zubchevich
Craig Omer Zubchevich was born January 9, 1968, in Oak Lawn, Illinois to Omer and Sharon Zubchevich. He was raised in Mountain Home, Arkansas where he attended school and graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1986. Craig was part of the foreign exchange program and he spent a semester in Germany his senior year. He was accepted and attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University for a year before deciding to join the Navy in 1987. He served on the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson – CVN 70. Craig traveled the world in the Navy and received several recognitions, including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for his participation in Operation Earnest Will and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Craig moved to California after his honorable discharge from active duty. There he decided to attend school at El Dorado Technical Institute. His graduation was the start of a 30-year career in the data storage industry as a Senior Systems Engineer. He thoroughly enjoyed his career and always strived to stay on top of the latest innovations. He received several awards over the course of his career.
Those who knew Craig knew he played as hard as he worked. He loved to golf, the beach and surfing. He would volunteer to clean the beach and harbor several times a year and worked to keep the area beautiful. Although he loved the ocean, music was his passion. Craig taught himself to play guitar and was an amazing singer. Before joining a band, he would enter karaoke contests all over Sothern California and always won. He sang for many bands over the years. Tandoori Flyz, Hated Betty and Pajama Farm to name a few. He loved being on stage and was a natural. During his time with Pajama Farm, the band built up a large following and every show would be packed. Craig also composed and recorded several songs during his music career.
Throughout his entire adult life, he had many jobs, hobbies, and passions but what meant most to him in life was his 2 beautiful children, Craig Jr and Madison. He shared so much with his children and his mannerisms, humor and quirky habits live on through them. He was an amazing soul who would help anyone and strived to make this earth a better place.
Craig is survived by his children; Craig Zubchevich Jr (Catherine) & Madison Zubchevich, his grandchildren; Barrett Kyte & Arizona Zubchevich, his mother, Sharon Zubchevich and his brothers; Keith Zubchevich (Jessica), Todd Zubchevich (Jenny) & Guy Zubchevich along with lots of amazing nieces and nephews.
Craig was preceded in death by his father Ozzie Zubchevich and we take comfort in knowing that they are now together.
Services will be held February 24 at Sunbird Golf Resort in the ballroom from 11:00 to 1:00.
6250 S SunBird Blvd, Chandler, Arizona 85249.

Was a great guy to bounce storage architecture ideas off of and chat about great technology that never went anywhere.

First and foremost, condolences to the family. I'm a fellow musician friend of Craig's along with Brad Kemp. Aside from my singing in bands Hydraulic and Pajama Farm after Craig, he and I also shared many an evening in Colorado singing karaoke. It was always a great time with him! Even after he moved to California, we'd stay in touch. Our nickname for each other was "Duder" and we laughed about that every time we said it or e-mailed it :0) He was a friend indeed and will be missed. God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear about Craig´s passing. I played guitar with him in both Hated Betty and Pajama Farm and truly loved my time with him. He was a talented performer and a great friend and I will miss him.
