Cruz Munoz, age 78, born and raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico as of late of the East Side in Chicago, IL, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023.
Proud Mother of Rafaela (Jake) Beckley, Fabian Torres, the late Rafael Torres, the late Anna Maria Torres, Fidel Torres, Gloria Torres and Robin Alvarez.
Beloved Grandmother of Veronica (Angel) Garcia-Maldonado, Crucita Torres, Fabian A. Torres, Rachel (Alex) Torres, Rita (Joseph) Reblin, Mishelle (Emmanuel) Alvarez, Emily Ann Lockwood and Rene Alvarado.
Kind Great grandmother of Cassandra, Jasmine, Angel Jr., Adrian, Armando, Alyssa, Alex Jr., Caleb, Cayden, Everly, Mason, Stefan and Emiliano. Caring Sister of Antonio Munoz (Norma), Ben Munoz (Yolanda) and Elia Cabezuela.
Loving Aunt of Diana Sigala, Johanna (Rey) Villegas, Ben Jr. (Mari) Munoz, Mary Ann Munoz, Santiago (Laura) Munoz, Antonio Munoz, Geneva (Asencion) Munoz, Martin and Krystal Munoz, Pedro (Kristy) Munoz, Isabel (Zenaido) Munoz, Marcos (Jolene) and Victoria Munoz
Preceded in death by parents: Antonio Munoz and Juanita Parraz de Munoz and grandparents: Locario and Rosalia Munoz and Florentino and Andrea Parraz.
Cruz Munoz was a strong, loving and faithful woman. She showed her faith in God through her work and treatment of others. She served her community and God in many ways. Some of her contributions of service were singing in the choir at the parishes of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Our Lady Gate of Heaven. She also was a Eucharistic Minister.
She loved children and one of her most proud accomplishments was being able to teach children about God.
Her actions and love will live on in the children she taught as well as all who knew her.
Mass of Christian burial for Cruz will be held in Carlsbad at 11 a.m. April 12, 2023 at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Catarina Cemetery.
