Irma Muñoz, 84, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A beloved mother, nana, daughter, sister and friend to many, Irma has gone to the heavens to rest.

Born on February 16, 1941, near Cuauhtémoc in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, Irma began her life in a region rich with culture and tradition. Her journey eventually brought her to the United States, where she built a life rooted in love and family.

Irma was preceded in death by her husband Jorge Muñoz; her sons Guillermo Rodriguez, Juan Muñoz, and Jaime Muñoz. Their memories live on through the stories shared by those who knew them and loved them.

She leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry forward her legacy: Jorge, Amber and family; Laura and family; Miguel, Lisa and family; Javier, Jennifer and family; Ruben, Angela and family; Liz and family Lawrence, Rosa and family; Andrew, Amanda and family; Antonio and Courtney.

Each of them carries a piece of Irma’s enduring spirit.

Irma’s life was one of quiet strength and deep devotion. She touched many lives with her presence—whether as a guiding mother figure or a cherished friend. Her warmth extended beyond immediate circles to embrace all who came into her life.

A Rosary will be held for Irma on Sep. 8th, 2025 at 6 p.m at St Bernadette Catholic Church: 11401 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87112.

A funeral service will be held on Sep. 9th, 2025 at 10 a.m at St Bernadette Catholic Church: 11401 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87112. With a procession to follow to Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87102.

Pallbearers will be:

Jorge, Miguel, Ruben, Liz, Andrew, Antonio, Muñoz.

Honorary pallbearers are: Laura and Javier Muñoz, and Lawrence Castillo
