Crystal Lorraine Bufford, 73, passed away peacefully September 24, 2025, at Morristown Manor Nursing Facility where she was a resident for nearly four years. She was born to the late Mary Isabelle Coleman and Joseph D. Coleman on June 24, 1952.

Crystal loved the Lord and was a faithful child of Him attending Christian Tabernacle Church for many, many years. She enjoyed attending church camp and fellowship with several friends of the church. She worked as a clerk for the Indiana State Board of Health. Prior to working for the State, she worked as a cashier for Woolworth's at Eastgate Mall where her daughters both enjoyed visiting her on her breaks and shop with her after her shifts were over. Crystal grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School with her Aunt Martha and Uncle Donald Mantooth by her side. She later married Samuel Taylor Bufford, to which she has two surviving daughters with him, Regina and Cheryl. The three of them were referred to as "Chris and the girls," as they were often together.

She enjoyed a hot cup of tea and toast for breakfast, reading the daily newspaper, sewing, playing word puzzles/crossword puzzles, shopping, and spending time gabbing on the phone with her friends. In 2007, the light of her life was born, grandson, Prentice. He brought her so much joy. She was "Granny Mo" to him. Crystal also enjoyed spending time with her "fur grands," Rudy, Jazzy, Peggy Sue, and the newest addition, Rosie. She was always so happy to visit with them and feed them treats.

Those left to cherish memories of her include her brother, Bill Coleman, daughters, Regina Horsley (Kevin), and Cheryl Hargraves (Ronnie), grandson, Prentice Hargraves, brother-in-law, Kirk Bufford, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and caretaker/close friend, Libby Bradley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Grace Ann Elizabeth Bufford, her brother, Paul Norris, her aunts, Martha Mantooth and Ruth Shelby.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46219. Interment will follow at New Crown Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
