GLENMOOR – Richard Curtis Moffett, of Glenmoor, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, August 19, 2025, at Trinity West Hospital in Steubenville. He was 69 years old.
Born in East Liverpool, January 17, 1956, he was a son of the late Richard O. "Dick" and Darlene Van Fossen Moffett. A graduate of East Liverpool High School, Curt worked all his life. He worked various jobs in the area, including several years spent at Crucible Steel. He then owned and operated Moffett's Pest Control and later began a 19-year career at WTI until his retirement.
Curt was well known and friendly to everyone. He was a member of the Wellsville Elks, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge 122. Curt was never one to sit still in retirement, he remained active on the golf course. If he wasn't playing, you could find him working at Historic Highlands Golf Course in Glenmoor.
Above all things in life, he loved his family and considered his children and grandchildren his greatest accomplishments in life. His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife Shelley K. Moffett who was always by his side. The couple married August 14, 1976. Together they raised their family: a daughter, Charity Winters (Steve), and a son, Nate Moffett. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren: Landon Winters and his companion Anna Straight and Jaxon Moffett.
He is also survived by a sister, Brenda Reed (Vince), and two brothers, Phil Moffett (Connie) and Jeff Moffett (Karla), as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Beagle and a brother, David Williams.
Friends may visit Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
