December 25, 1987 – October 21, 2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Curtis Bryant Crabbe of Fredericksburg, Virginia, announces the sudden passing of their beloved son, brother, and devoted father on October 21, 2024, at the age of 36.
Curtis was born in Fairfax, VA, to Curtis Lewis Crabbe and Nannette (Curry) Crabbe, and was the firstborn of five wonderful sons. He developed a passion for the outdoors at a very early age and spent most of his childhood doing what he loved most, being outside exploring the local neighborhood woods, lakes, and creeks across Reston and Herndon, VA with his siblings, cousins, and friends, many of which remained his best friends until his untimely passing.
He attended South Lakes High School in Reston, VA where he played football and baseball, before transferring briefly to Osborne Park in
Manassas, VA, and ultimately finishing his education at Stafford High School in Stafford, VA.
Curtis worked various jobs after high school prior to pursuing an occupation as a barber. He worked diligently to hone his skills and became one of the premier and favorite barbers in the Fredericksburg/Stafford area. In 2017, to pursue more opportunity for his family, Curtis began his career with Mapei, a leading global adhesive manufacturer in Fredericksburg, VA. He started as a Preweight Operator and through his hard work and commitment, Curtis quickly moved up to Team Lead before ultimately being promoted into the Supervisor position. Curtis worked at Mapei faithfully for 7 years.
As an adult, Curtis remained a dedicated family man. He was a particularly proud, loving, and doting father of four beautiful children that he maintained a very close and present relationship with. Curtis loved to be surrounded by family and good friends, and very seldom missed an opportunity to fellowship at gatherings or the cookouts that he especially loved.
Curtis was an avid outdoorsman and had a special adoration for nature and being outside, whether fishing, camping, going to the beach or lake, or just sitting around enjoying a cigar and telling stories, he was usually his most content. Curtis's deep passion for fishing was unmatched and was his favorite past time. He could often be found at his happiest with his brothers, cousins, or friends with a fishing rod in his hand and that unmistakable, beautiful smile on his face.
He is survived by his loving mother Nannette Crabbe; children Maia, Curtis III, Lanay, Liana; brothers Marcus (Lisa) Crabbe, Justin Crabbe, Nathan (Aliyah) Crabbe, Brandon Crabbe; nieces Elise, Zariah, Leilani; nephew Ezra; grandparents Marilyn (Lawrence) McCullough and Jerry (Kathy) Curry, and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family and friends.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father Curtis Lewis Crabbe, grandmother Glenda (Crabbe) Tasco, his uncle Mark Crabbe, and many other family members and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 16, 2024, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 4325 Chain Bridge Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030. Viewing 10:00 am, Service 11:00 am.
