Curtis Dantin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 9, 2024.
FORT WORTH - Curtis R. Dantin was called by the Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2024, while surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with a reception to follow at 6151 Foxglove Court, Fort Worth, TX 76112. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the Breyley Suite at Mount Olivet Chapel.
Curtis was born May 14, 1953, in Brownsville, Texas, to TJ and Barbara Dantin. His father was lost at sea in 1955 and Roy, along with Belle Pearson, raised him on the farm in Springtown, Texas. Curtis proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from April 1973 to his retirement in January 1998 as a Master Sergeant. He was recognized and decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal, One Oak Leaf Cluster, Two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Achievement Medal, and the Expert Marksmanship Small Arms Badge in both rifle and pistol.
Curtis traded his uniform for civilian clothes and continued serving in the Air Force on a Navy ship as a mobile sensor operator for the next 15 years until he came home for the birth of his youngest son. He loved people and serving his community so he worked in the District Clerk's Family Law Center until his retirement in 2021.
Not everyone liked Curtis because you had to earn and gain his trust, but there was nothing he wouldn't do for those who did. He didn't tolerate laziness, whining, thieves, or liars.
Curtis was preceded in death by all of his parents; and his only sibling, Deborah Coates.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife and best friend, Lauren; his children, Mary (John), Robert (Ashley), Curtis Jr. and Matthew; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; his uncle; his aunts; hundreds of cousins; and thousands of friends.
