Curtis Alfred Davis (Colonel, United States Air Force, Retired)
Curtis Alfred Davis, age 78, passed away at his home in Virginia Beach, VA on March 17, 2022. He was born on February 5, 1944 in Newark, Ohio to James Alfred Davis and Emma Anabel Davis.
Curtis was a graduate of Newark High School in Newark, OH. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and a MBA from the University of North Dakota.
Curtis was a retired Colonel in the Air Force, having served a distinguished 26-year career. He received numerous citations, awards and decorations, including the Legion of Merit. He was considered a tough, effective, though fair and supportive officer. He was highly-respected by his commanders and those under his command alike, many of whom remained life-long friends. He carried these same qualities into his career after the Air Force in senior executive positions with ITAC and later SAIC.
He was a devoted father, spending much of his time supporting his sons' athletics – baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling – as a coach, mentor and greatest fan. Early in life he was an avid and accomplished golfer. He was also an active, faithful member of St. Joseph's United Methodist Church in Pikeville, NC. Later in life, he enjoyed spending quiet days with his family and he became an obsessive Fantasy Footballer.
Curtis is survived by his son Curt and daughter-in-law Jennifer Davis of Fayetteville, AR; son Clint Davis of Green Valley, AZ; son Michael and daughter-in-law Allison Davis of Virginia Beach, VA; son David and daughter-in-law Carolyn Davis of Potomac Falls, VA; grandsons James and Joseph Davis (sons of Michael and Allison); sister Vivian Seabury of Waipahu, HI; and constant four-legged companion Humphrey Davis. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Susan and his parents James and Anabel Davis of Newark, OH.
Curtis will be interred with full military honors at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at later date.
He will be forever missed by his family, his church, his many friends, colleagues and fellow Airmen.
In remembrance of him, wife Susan, and late father-in-law James Hiteshew, the family requests donations to the National League of POW/MIA Families, www.pow-miafamilies.org, or the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

To my dear friend and colleague: S.A.L.U.T.E. May you Rest In Peace as that indeed was your SAC profession! Some of the best times in our careers were doing battle with each other during day and going to happy hour with each other debating who won the day
