Curtis James Mallatt Jr. was born on June 6,1945, to Betty Lorraine Allen and Curtis James Mallatt Sr. He passed away on December 3, 2025 Raised in the coastal town of Point Arena, California, Curtis known as "Jim" grew up surrounded by family, community, and the values that shaped his life.
As a young boy, Jim met Dian Moss, who would later become his first wife. Their childhood friendship blossomed into a family, and together they welcomed their sons Troy and Shawn, and infant Christopher, who preceded him in death.
Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed at Takhli Air Force Base in Thailand. His years of service reflected his courage, discipline and unwavering commitment to his country-qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
After returning home Jim built a respected plumbing business and was a general contractor in the city of Antioch California. Known for his honesty, craftsmanship, and dedication. Beyond his strong work ethic, he was known for his remarkable generosity; Jim was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His giving heart touched everyone around him.
Jim was also a very proud member of the Masonic Lodge in Antioch for over 50 years.
In 1989 Jim married Michele Frost, beginning a loyal and loving partnership that spanned over 30 years and continued until Michele's passing. Over the last 10 years, Jim made his home in Arizona, where he spent his later years surrounded by family and loved ones.
Jim leaves behind his sons Troy and Shawn, along with four grandchildren: Corey, Steven, Alana and Selena, and three great-grandchildren who brought him joy. He is also survived by Michele's children Lisa Lynch and Charles "Dru" Smith and her grandchildren Jami Tovar, Kati Gabal Brooke Smith, Jade Miller and Rhett Lynch and seven great grandchildren with one more due this month, all of whom added love and warmth to his later years.
Jim will be remembered for his steady strength, gentle humor, generous spirit and the deep love he held for his family, His presence was a grounding force, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He will be profoundly missed
