Curtis Durant McArthur, 60, of Washington, Utah, died of complications of a cardiac arrest on May 3, 2025, in the St. George Regional Hospital in the company of his family, wife Deborah, sons Brian, Cade, and Dillon, and daughter Paige along with his parents Durant and Virginia McArthur.

Curt, as he was familiarly known, leaves a legacy of accomplishment, service, compassion, and love. He was born April 21, 1965, in the Murray Cottonwood Hospital and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah; Leeds, United Kingdom; and Ephraim and Orem, Utah. He graduated from Orem High School in 1983, Dixie College with an A.S. in 1987, and obtained additional education at Brigham Young University. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southwest British Mission, 1984-1986, culminating in his service for several months as an Assistant to the Mission President, where he was known as "The President's Man". He and Debbie were married in the Denver, Colorado LDS Temple on May 19, 1990.

He made his way professionally in transportation and logistics, starting with Bailey's Moving and Storage Company in Utah and Colorado, and later as manager of Bekins Northwest Atlas Van Lines in Anchorage, Alaska (2000-2004). He and his family moved to Mililani, Hawaii in 2004, where he first managed Crown Relocations, then started his own company, Harbour Forwarding, which specialized in packaging moves and transfers of equipment and supplies for the military and other government entities. Later, in Hawaii, he worked for Pelatron Technologies, a company that specialized in military surveillance equipment.

Curt began having physical problems in about 2010 as a result of chronic pain and its cumulative effects from a 1990 automobile accident. Diagnosis and treatment for his health issues were sought in Hawaiian and Californian hospitals, and finally for several months at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, with several diagnoses. Curt returned to Hawaii, but his condition continued to be debilitating; after which he and his family relocated to St. George, Utah, in 2015, then to Washington, Utah, to be nearer to extended family support.

Curt, from his youth, was a problem solver and craftsman: capable of building with wood, metal, and other materials. He worked well with people professionally and in his church service, where he served in various capacities in the wards and in the many temples where he lived. He was especially effective in working with youth, mentoring and nourishing them. He reached out to people, and they responded. He appreciated art and collected many fine paintings and did some painting himself. He was an accomplished outdoorsman and an Eagle Scout. He was generous with his means and his spirit. He enjoyed sharing gifts, especially those with Hawaiian motifs. His family extends appreciation to the amazing care of health professionals who have lent their expertise and time carefully caring for Curt.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deborah P. McArthur; his sons Brian Durant (Madison Elms) with granddaughters Miriam and Cleo, Cade Duncan, and Dillon Wallace; his daughter Paige Leah; Parents Eldon Durant and Virginia Johnson McArthur; sisters Monica (Alan) Bennion, Denise (Kent Johnson deceased) McArthur and brother Ted (Jessica) McArthur, and many nieces and nephews.
