Curtis Lee Phipps was born August 5, 1956 in Topeka, KS to Deward and Ruby Phipps. He passed in his home on March 23, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife Curlene Rae Phipps, stepson John David Hancock, parents Deward and Ruby Phipps, and his oldest brother Deward “Rip” Phipps. He is survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Mack and Mitzi Hall, brother-in-law David Hall, daughter Jennifer Lynn Phipps, son: Joshua Lee Phipps, stepdaughter Christine April Hancock, grandchildren Dustin Bourland, Devin Phipps, Demitria Phipps, 13 brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Curtis was a friend to anyone who met him. He was tender-hearted, kind, and loving to those close to him. If he could do something to help someone he did. Curt loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. Curt had a fun loving and free spirit. He loved to crack jokes and had an awesome sense of humor. He was a hard worker and took pride in everything he ever did. He was a member of the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic for 20 years. After he retired, he then worked Civil Service for the military for another 10 years. Curt always found a way to provide for his loved ones and was a great blessing to all that knew him. Curt is absent from the body but present with the Lord and now rests in peace with the loved ones who went before him. The very best of who Curt was and is will live on in those whom he loved until we see him again in Heaven.

Memorial services 11 AM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Psalm 3-:11-12 You have turned my mourning into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord, my God, I will praise you forever.
