Curtis David “Poppie” Williamson, Sr., 70 of Albany, GA., died Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Willson Hospice House. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 at Crown Hill Cemetery immediately following a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. His family will officiate the service.
Curtis was born in Pensacola, FL to Bobby and Carolyn Williamson. He was a self-employed business man and spent many years in the automotive industry as well as being a truck driver. Poppie was an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed being on the water, fishing, hunting, driving tractors and all aspects of outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Eugene Williamson. Curtis attended Open Door Worship Center.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Ivy Williamson, his children, Shawn Harper (Amy), Brandy Branch (Stoney), Jody Johnson (Whitney), Harmony Chason (Robby), David Williamson, Jr. (Sara) and Katelyn Day (Justin), his mother, Carolyn Williamson, his sister Cara Clark (Tony), his brother Clark Williamson (Tammy), fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his dog Dexter.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Ste. A, Macon, GA 31201.
