She was born on July 25, 1954, in the state of New Jersey. In the 1970s, she attended Plainfield High School, where she later met and married her beloved husband, James (Jimmy) Bryant. For many years, she worked at the Neighborhood House in housekeeping, where she found joy in working with
children. Though she was not blessed with children of her own, she was the gatekeeper for many. Every morning, she was up at 5 o'clock to ensure the kids safely boarded the school bus, serving as the assistant for the children on their ride to school.
An avid reader, she was always ready to challenge anyone to a dance-off, particularly enjoying the music of James Brown and Al Green. As the oldest of five sisters, she was given the responsibility of babysitting not only her siblings but also her cousins and children from the neighborhood.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen J. Cox, and her brothers Philip D. Cox of Somerset NJ, Larry H. Cox of
Virginia, and Jeffery M. (Patricia) Cox of Manville NJ. She is also preceded by her five sisters: Linda M. (Bagby) Cox of
North Carolina, Reathea M. Cox of Phillipsburg NJ, Sharon D. Cox of Plainfield NJ, Gloria M. Cox of Georgia, and Cathy L. Cox (Summerlin) of Plainfield NJ
She leaves behind a host of aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family, and friends.
