Cynthia Bublitz
April 22, 1959 - November 17, 2025
PORTAGE - Cynthia "Cindy" A. (Ferguson) Bublitz, of Portage, WI, became an angel too early at the age of 66 on November 17, 2025 at UW Health in Madison due to complications from surgery. She was born on April 22, 1959, in Fairbanks, Alaska, the daughter of Roy and Beverly (Grant) Ferguson. Cindy graduated from Portage High School with the Class of 1978.
Cindy married the love of her life, Mark Bublitz, and together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. She worked at Divine Savior Nursing Home, later Tivoli, for over 30 years, retiring in 2024. As a front desk receptionist, Cindy greeted every resident, visitor, and staff member with a warm smile. Her kindness, compassion, and familiar presence touched the lives of countless people throughout her long career. Cindy had a remarkable green thumb and adored tending to the plants in the nursing home greenhouse.
At home, she created vibrant hanging flower baskets and lovingly maintained her flower gardens, always eager for her next visit to local country greenhouses. She filled her beloved orange Volkswagen Beetle to the brim each spring and fall with annuals and mums, only limited by what she could fit inside. A gifted decorator, Cindy transformed her home for every season. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she delighted in designing a new theme for her tree each holiday. She especially loved spoiling her children and grandchildren with thoughtful gifts and traditions that made the season magical. Cindy also loved making soup on Sundays and cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers.
Cindy ("Meme") is survived by her husband, Mark; her daughters, Janessa (Brian) Henning of Marshall, WI, and Becky (Tyler) Kamrath of Portage, WI; and her cherished grandchildren, Grant, Brock, and Miles Henning, Aidan Warfield, and Kenlee and Colton Kamrath. She is further survived by her sister, Patty (Mike) Pendleton; her brother, Joe (Sue Barton) Ferguson; mother-in-law, Delores Bublitz, and many relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Dianne; and her brother David and father-in-law Ken Bublitz.
Cindy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her eye for beauty, and her unwavering love for her family. Her warmth lives on in every garden she inspired and every life she touched.
