Cynthia “Cindy” Kay Ponce (Davenport), 51, of Taylorsville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. She was born on October 19, 1973.
Cindy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by her strong faith and deep love for the Lord. She carried that faith with her in every season of life and shared it through her kindness, strength, and compassion for others.
She was exceptionally smart and dedicated to learning, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Ponce; her two beloved sons, Paul and Hamilton; her brother, Darrell Davenport, and his wife, Deanna, along with their children, Peyton and Addison. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Sue Davenport.
Cindy found joy in many things—singing, creating beautiful jewelry through her small business, Knot of This World Boutique, and, most of all, being with her family. She had a tender heart for animals, and her pets were a source of comfort and joy.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on October 11th, 2025 at Georgia Funeral Care. Rather than a formal church service, we’re holding an open celebration of Cindy’s life. Please join us to visit with family, watch a slideshow of special memories, and share stories. Please stop by if you can between 1:00-4:00 pm—this is a time of connection, not a scheduled church service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to support Cindy’s boys through the family’s Give In Kind page, continuing Cindy’s legacy of caring for them. Donations may also be made to ovarian cancer research in her honor.
