In Loving Memory of Cynthia Carol VanDusen Diddle February 2, 1951 – July 7, 2025
Cynthia Carol VanDusen Diddle, beloved spouse and mother, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Carroll, Iowa, on February 2, 1951, to parents Jewell and Floyd VanDusen.
A Life of Love and Dedication Cindy is preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister Beverly Jane VanDusen Sands, and a grandchild, Darien Leigh Diddle. She is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate of 52 years, Jerry Gene Diddle, and her two children: Kamila Perez (spouse Nosbel Perez) and Jason Diddle (spouse Rowan Diddle). Cindy was a proud grandmother to: Christopher Kalel Serna, Adelina Serna, Zulai Perez, Zasha Perez, Jordan Diddle, Riley Diddle, and Connor Diddle, and a loving great-grandmother to: Maximilian Serna and Mason Serna. She shared a deep bond with her niece Tammie Sands McMahon, who was like a daughter to her. Cindy considered Tammie's children to be her own grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Cindy maintained close relationships with her friends and family, cherishing regular conversations-especially with her best friend, Karen Alexander.
A Heart for Children and Community Cindy's life was defined by love and service. She was first and foremost a lover of children, taking great pride in her role as a homemaker. She delighted in preparing dinner for her husband every evening and was always involved in her children's lives-volunteering at their schools and supporting every activity. She extended her care beyond her own family, lovingly tending to numerous children over the years.
A Joyful Career and Caring Spirit Professionally, Cindy began her career as a phone company operator, then worked at a local daycare in Golden Gate City. She later managed Winn-Dixie bakeries and finished her working years with the Collier County School Board in hospitality. In every role, her cheerful personality and kindness left a lasting impression.
A Creative Legacy Cindy's talents were many, but her crafting stood out. She was a master crocheter-creating everything from cozy blankets to colorful hot pads. She enjoyed cross-stitch, ceramic painting, and in her later years, found her passion in quilting. Quilting with her friend Debbie became a treasured part of her life. Cindy made beautiful quilts for nearly everyone she loved, each stitched with thoughtfulness and care. Her creations were more than crafts-they were gifts of love and comfort.
