Cynthia Earp Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Cynthia "Cindy" Diane May Earp passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 15, 2025.
Born on September 30, 1960, Cindy was the second of three children to John and Lydia May. Cindy's early years were spent with her parents, sister and brother in Houston, Texas. She graduated from South Houston High School in 1979.
A night at Doc Holliday's in 1981 forever changed her life, when she met her future husband, Eddie Earp. They danced the night away and married six months later. After spending several years in Mississippi, they moved back to South Houston and began raising their children in the very house that Cindy grew up in herself. In 1994, the family moved to the "country" and settled in New Waverly, where they have built their life for the past 30 years.
Her best years were spent with her family and building a space that felt like home to everyone that walked through the door. She was affectionately known as Ninny by her nieces and nephews, grandkids and all her "extra" kids.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Earp; son Michael Earp, wife Katy and their children John, Aubrey, Ellie and Eden; daughter Amanda Hernandez, husband David and their children Alexis (Lexi) and Evelyn (Evie); sister Patricia Smoot; brother Johnny May and wife Tina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father John May, mother Lydia May, and brother-in-law David Smoot.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and funeral services on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., both at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville. Interment will be at East Sandy Cemetery in New Waverly immediately following.
Memorial condolences to the family may be made at www.shmfh.com.
