Cynthia Lou Hoagland peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the age of 76. She was born to Walter E. Springer Jr and Beatrice (Combs) Springer in Glenn’s Falls, NY on September 30, 1948.
Cindy will always be remembered as a beautiful soul and a treasured friend to many. She was an active member of McQueeney Baptist Church, helping with Vacation Bible School most every year. Affectionately known as “Mama Bear”, she was an active and support member of the McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department for many years (allowing her to share one of her soulmate Chuck’s true passions). She was once a cake baker/decorator, and a freelance photographer. Sewing and doing crafts brought her a lot of joy, as did tending to her many plants. In her downtime she enjoyed reading and doing word searches. She loved every cat that entered her life, and since all pets go to Heaven, she’s no doubt loving on them once again.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents Walter E. Springer Jr and Beatrice (Combs) Springer, brothers Wayne Springer, Tommy Springer and Hollis Springer, infant son Benjamin Scott Belanger, and her husband of 44 years, Chuck Hoagland. She is survived by her son James Belanger (Tina), stepson Charles Hoagland Jr (Apryl), stepson Christopher Hoagland (Clarissa), stepson Robert Hoagland, and stepdaughter Laura Torres (Andre); grandchildren Brian Hoagland, Kaitlin Hoagland, Spencer Hoagland, Nicholas Hoagland, Jayson Hoagland, Ashley Bourassa, Yzza Hoagland, Alexyl Hoagland, Kaelena Hoagland, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin, Texas. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 at McQueeney Baptist Church in McQueeney, Texas at 2:00 pm. Refreshments will be served after the funeral in the church Fellowship Hall.
Services are under the direction of Goetz Funeral Home, 713 N. Austin Street, Seguin, Texas 78155. 830-379-2313
