It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cynthia Markus-Dunn. Cindy died peacefully on May 7th, 2025 in the company of her loving husband, Lawrence Dunn.

Cindy was born on January 5th, 1954, in Minneapolis Minnesota. Cindy lost her parents at a young age and was raised mostly by her fraternal grandmother, Kay Harloff. Cindy worked for many years for the State of Minnesota at the Anoka Regional Treatment Center. Cindy was very good at her job and proud of what she did. In her free time Cindy loved gardening and pie baking.

Cindy met her future husband, Larry Dunn, on a blind date in 1985, which was the start of a partnership that lasted almost forty years. They built a life together in Anoka County, helping take care of each other and family. Cindy and Larry were more than husband and wife-they were best friends, lovers, and each other's caregiver.

Cindy was preceded in death by her brother Roger Markus and is survived by her husband Lawrence Dunn, step sisters Patty Bornstein and Judy Childer, brother-in-law Martin Dunn, sister-in-law Betsy Dunn, and nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at Lyngblomsten Care Center Chapel, 1415 Almond Ave S, Saint Paul, Minnesota, 55108, on June 11, 2025 at 11am.
