Cynthia A. Putnam, beloved wife of Susan Cormier passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital with her family by her side. She was 63 years old.
Cindy was born in Concord, MA on April 2, 1960, the daughter of Sherry A. (Hill) DeSimone who survives her and the late Elliot P. Putnam.
She spent her childhood in Sudbury, MA before the family moved to Marlborough, MA where she graduated from Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. After graduating she enlisted in the US Army, serving for two years, then serving five years in the Army National Guard.
Upon completion of her service to our country Cindy spent her working career in purchasing, shipping, and receiving. She began a career in the waterworks industry working in the family business and then spent the last ten years working as purchasing director for Baystate Waterworks.
Cindy and her wife Sue met through mutual friends more than 30 years ago and would have celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary later this year. They enjoyed spending time together by their pool and taking various trips together.
Cindy was a huge football fan. She was a New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings Super-fan. She looked forward to attending Patriots games, talking football with her nephews, and of course the annual family fantasy football league. Cindy also enjoyed gardening and tending to and spending time around her pool. She will be remembered for her gregarious personality, positive outlook on life, and her distinctive laugh that put a smile on everyone’s face. Family was everything to Cindy and she had a way to make sure her love was felt by all.
Surviving Cindy besides her wife and mother are her brother and sister-in-law, David and Paula Putnam of Orleans, MA; a sister and brother-in-law, Jenifer and Craig Bautz of Green Acres, FL; four nephews and a niece, Alex Putnam and his wife Blair, Stephen Putnam all of San Francisco, CA, Brendan Putnam of Orleans, MA, Cody Bautz and Logann Bautz both of Green Acres, FL, the extended Cormier family, and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Cindy's Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM in the Parish Center for the Arts, 10 Lincoln Street, Westford, MA. The service is open to all and a reception will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, Cindy would have appreciated you honoring her by sending a donation to Boston Children's Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
