The world has said goodbye to a trailblazing original. A woman filled with unshakeable faith, courage who stood up for the underdog, gave selflessly, loved unconditionally and beat breast cancer. She always was a teacher– 32 years with Chicago Public Schools (Hitch and Funston) and several years as a substitute at St. Tarcissus School. Her many students remember her sense of humor, wit and compassion. We will be forever grateful to her for having shown us what we could be, how we could give, and what a well-lived life is. We are all better for the blessing of having shared in her life. The best mom ever.
Visitation Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 1:00 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. at COLONIAL-WOJCIECHOWSKI FUNERAL HOME 6250 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. Funeral services Monday, February 12, starting with prayers at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, proceeding to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Entombment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631 or St. Elizabeth of the Trinity School appreciated.

Mrs. Rubic was such a kind and compassionate teacher, and a friendly caring neighbor as well. May Cindy, Amy, and their families be comforted by the gentle hand of the Almighty. You are all in our deepest heart felt thoughts. Mrs. G.
