Cynthia Taylor Simpson Obituary

She was baptized at an early age at Zion Baptist Church. She was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County public schools, proudly graduating from Lafayette High School in the Class of 1978.
Cindy dedicated many years working at the Williamsburg Pottery and later pursued her passion for food service, contributing her talents to the Chickahominy House, Eastern State Hospital, and The Chophouse restaurant.
Above all, Cindy cherished her family and grandchildren. She loved dancing, watching soap operas, and cheering on the Washington Commanders. She took great pride in caring for others and touching the lives of everyone around her. Cindy's warm smile, generosity, and love for life will forever be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mothers, Eunice Taylor and Minnie Louise Williams; her father, David Earl Jones; her brother, Clarence Taylor; and her son, Rico Leon Taylor.
Cindy's loving memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Leon Simpson; her daughter, Richauna Lajoy Taylor; stepson, Najmah Grimes; grandchildren, Tiana Taylor, Jason McCormick, Azariah Taylor, Der'Rico Walker, and Saige Walker; siblings, Veronica Taylor, Rebecca Myers, Deborah Robinson (Calvin), and Rodney Taylor (April); her aunt, Mildred Taylor; special friends Charlotte Moore, Shelia Ward, Karen Frazier Bey, and Colette Roots; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Noon on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Zion Baptist Church, Williamsburg, with Dr Morris L. Randall Sr. officiating. Mrs. Simpson may be viewed in the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
