Glenn Potter Obituary
Glenn was born on August 13, 1960, in Williamsburg, VA, and accepted Christ in his life at an early age. Gifted with a natural talent for music, he found great joy in playing the drums. Throughout the years, he shared that gift faithfully playing for several churches in the Williamsburg, Virginia area.
"Dukie," as he was affectionately called, was educated in Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and attended Lafayette High School, where he discovered a deep passion for football, a sport he loved wholeheartedly. His passion for the Philadelphia Eagles was unmatched.
After high school, Glenn continued his path of dedication and service by joining the United States Marine Corps.
Glenn leaves behind a legacy filled with love, faith, and cherished memories. Holding his memory close are his children, Kailyn M. Potter of Montross, VA, Alex Germain-Minter of Montross, VA, and Christopher D. Pennington of Charlotte, NC; his siblings, Isaac L. Potter (Phyllis) of Chesterfield, VA, Willis M. Potter of Chesapeake, VA, Neal A. Potter of Williamsburg, VA, and Rhodalisa L. Jones (Milton) of Newport News, VA, and Monalisa H. Potter of Williamsburg, VA; he is also lovingly remembered by four aunts, Alberta Jones of Williamsburg, VA, Carolyn Canaday of Fort Washington, MD, Janice Canaday of Williamsburg, VA and Patricia Canaday of Williamsburg, VA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will continue to love him dearly.
His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory remains a blessing to all who knew him.
A homegoing celebration will be held at Noon on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
