Daffine Davis Hill

Lela Daffine “Dean” Hill, 94, of Canton, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on December 6th, 2025. Daffine was born on November 22nd, 1931, in Haywood County, NC to Vance and Malanie Davis.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Daffine will be lovingly remembered by her older sister Bernice Haynes, her loving sister-in-law Emmaline Davis, her four children, Betty Adams (Lee Adams), Ronald Hill (Sheila Hill), Linda Brown (Keith Brown) and Regina Vance. Her 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Troy Hill. Her younger brother, Morgan Davis and parents, Vance and Malanie Davis.

Daffine was known for her kindness and always being welcoming to anyone and everyone. She was the most loving, Christian woman and will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm located at Wells Funeral Home of Canton with Pastor Larry Collins, Pastor Gary Putnam and Jeremy Cagle officiating. Family will receive friends two hours prior starting at 12:00 noon. An Inurnment service will be scheduled at a later late.

In lieu of flowers monetary donations can be sent to Canton Freewill Baptist Church.
