Daisy Bell Kern

Daisy Bell Heavner Kern, age 93, of Vista Drive, entered her Heavenly home early Sunday morning, March 5, 2023 while at Carolina Care Health and Rehabilitation. She was born May 7, 1929, in Gaston County to the late Phillip and Willa Brown Heavner. Daisy was a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to yardsales and auctions. She also loved ceramics and collector items.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Larry Farmer, David Farmer, and Michael Kern; grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie, and Jonathan; sister, Shirley Carroll and infant sister, Ruby; and brothers, David Phillip Heavner, Jr. and Carl Heavner.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Phillip Kern; daughter, Patricia Beckham; sons, Wade Kern (Darla) and Alan Kern (Diane); brothers, Claude Heavner (Jenny), Pete Heavner, Freddie Heavner, and Tommy Heavner (Patsy); grandchildren, Wendy, Ryan, Alison, Julia, Lindsey, Josh, Tristan, and Catelyn; great grandchildren, Korey, Kilie, Bub, Nathan, Bella, Kenny, Kyle, Jackson, Kyla, Rylan, Jameson, and Jax; and great-great grandchildren, Ethan, Ivy, Atreus, and Kollins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church, 318 W. Ballard Street, with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
