Daisy Loilette Simmers, born on March 7, 1932, in Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home in Mills River, North Carolina, on July 22, 2025, at the age of 93.

Daisy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Anna Lee Morris and her step-father, William B. Mills; her daughters, Theresa Harley and Judy Ems; her brother, John Mills; her grandson Jordan Bryce Bell and her granddaughter Nicole Kelly Cagle.

Daisy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Harvey H. Simmers. She leaves behind her daughters, Erna Blackburne and Lois Ann Khalafalla, both of Hendersonville, NC; her sons, Coy Kelly of Rincon, GA, and Larry Kelly of Guyton, GA.

Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren: Melissa Mast, Stephanie Kelly, Patricia Reddick, Annalee Bell, Jennifer Harley, John Kugel, Daniels Ems, Cheri Burns, Angela Ketchum, Cole Simmers, Teague Graham, Timothy Graham, Johanna Khalafalla, Adham Khalafalla, Emily Blackburne, Aaron Malone and Stacy Petroni. Daisy was blessed with many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and 3rd great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Thursday, July 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Church Street Funeral & Cremation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25, at 12:00 p.m. at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.

Daisy's gentle spirit and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
