It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, Dakotah James Horner. Dakotah passed away on January 26, 2025, in Weirsdale, Florida. He was 28 years old. Dakotah was born September 29, 1996, at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska.
Dakotah is survived by his parents Jack and Michelle Horner, his sister Madison Horner, his daughter Delilah Rogers-Horner, his fiancée Melissa Skinner and her daughter Vivian, his grandmothers Thelma Pulis and Dora Hackett and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who all love him and will miss him very much. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers James Pulis and Charles Horner.
Dakotah graduated from Lake Weir High School in 2015 with honors. He was on the football team for three years. Before attending Lake Weir High School, he attended Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. After high school, he attended College of Central Florida where he received an associate degree in business. Later he attended Lake Technical College and became a certified diesel mechanic. At the time of his passing, Dakotah worked for Matheny Fire and Emergency in Ocala, Florida.
Dakotah was an amazing son, brother, father, and friend to many. His greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Delilah and he loved spending time with her and Vivian.
He enjoyed muscle cars, motorcycles, shooting, and spending time with his family and friends. Dakotah was full of life and always had a smile that lit up the room. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and loving him will miss him deeply.
His Funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 2, at 3:00 at Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Services, 1008 Bichara Boulevard, The Villages, followed by interment in Lone Oak Cemetery, Leesburg.
Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.
