Dal Douglas Jaffray, age 81 of Hudson passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He was born on September 2, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late George Douglas and Helen Marguerite (nee Shelton) Jaffray. Dal is also preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years Judith "Judy" K. (nee Tipple) Jaffray. He is survived by three loving children, Todd, Heather and Dan (Traci) Jaffray; five dear grandchildren, Tessa, Nathan, Connor, Delaney and Mason and his beloved sister Jennifer Sixt.
Dal spent his entire life devoted to family, was always willing to help anyone in need, and truly "lived to work". In his younger years, he was an outstanding musician and percussion instructor, and developed many long term friendships with his students that lasted decades.
He began his successful career in construction as a plasterer working alongside his father. His passion for the industry eventually led him to become partner in a General Contracting company in Cleveland. Dal was a mentor to many, and took pride in the abundance of building renovations and projects in the Greater Cleveland and Akron areas that he was involved with. Even in his retirement years he was still doing consulting work and managing smaller projects to pass the time.
Dal was an avid Cleveland sports fan, loved attending Indians games, and was always up for a good round of golf with friends and family. He will truly be missed by many.
The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Busch-Romito Funeral Home, 19 East Main Street (On The Square),
Hudson, Ohio.
