Dale Kenneth Baker Jr

Dale Kenneth Baker Jr., beloved husband, devoted father, and lifelong servant of God, passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 21st, 1938, in Longview, Texas, he was the cherished son of Juanita Jewel Baker and Dale K. Baker Sr.

A proud patriot, Dale answered the call to serve his country, first in the Texas National Guard and later in the United States Navy. His enduring love for America was reflected in his values, his words, and the way he lived.

On July 4, 1959, Dale married the love of his life, Joyce Marie Parrish. Their marriage of more than six decades was a testament to unwavering faith, enduring love, and shared purpose. Together, they built a life marked by compassion, devotion, and service to others.

Dale's calling to ministry began at First Baptist Church in Douglass, Texas-a place of profound spiritual significance for him and his family. Over the next 35 years, he faithfully shepherded congregations across Texas, culminating in his pastoral work in the close-knit community of Delhi. With every sermon and every act of kindness, Dale reflected Christ's love and shared the message of the birth, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

Humble in spirit and bold in faith, Dale touched countless lives with his words, his example, and his steadfast dedication to the Gospel. His legacy endures not only in the churches he served, but in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; their four children Bonnie, Mike, DeeNan and Joy, and their spouses; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carry forward his values of faith, integrity, and grace.

A service celebrating Dale's life and ministry will be held at First Baptist Church of Douglass on July 21, 2025, at 10 am. All who knew and loved him are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse – Texas Flash Flood Relief, a cause dear to Dale's heart and reflective of his lifelong desire to serve others in need.
