Dale Stephen Card, 62, of Hughesville, MD, passed away on July 13, 2024 in LaPlata, Md.
Dale was born on April 17, 1962 in Washington D.C. to Mary Frances (Montgomery) Card and the late William Gilbert Card Sr. Growing up Dale played baseball for Waldorf Little League and Hughesville Little League where he was a pitcher. In his high school years at Thomas Stone he played on the baseball team and in 1978 they played against Aberdeen High School for the State Championship, the pitcher for Aberdeen was none other than Cal Ripken Jr, unfortunately Thomas Stone lost to Aberdeen. Dale was an avid sports fan, he loved the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins and University of Md basketball. He enjoyed singing karaoke, duck pin bowling, golfing, fishing and playing pool. He worked for Buddy Bowling for over 20 years as a furniture restorer/finisher at Everything Amish in Hughesville, Md.
In addition to his father, Dale is preceded in death by his sisters Debra Ann Lange, Donna Marie Dutton and brother in-laws Ronald Wayne Lange Sr and Glenn Charles Mayhew. Grandparents Leo S and Violet Montgomery and Mary E. Card.
Along with his mother Mary, Dale is survived by his sisters Darlene Card Stalcup (Tom), Dina Card Mayhew and brother William Gilbert Card Jr, brother-in-law Christopher R. Dutton. Dale is also survived by nephews William and Sean Mayhew, TJ, Michael and Joe Stalcup, nieces Lisa Dutton and Angie Kalnasy and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Dale's name to the Hughesville Little League and mailed to: Hughesville Little League PO Box 172 Bryantown, MD 20617
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 22nd from 10am until time of Memorial service at 12pm at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Ave, LaPlata, Md. Repass immediately following service at LaPlata Volunteer Fire Department.
