Dale Ray Dowless, 62, of Tar Heel, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was born in Bladen County, the son of Cletus and Bettie Melvin Dowless.
Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Bettie Dowless and his sister, Gwenda Dowless Smith. He is survived by his father, Cletus Dowless of Bladenboro, his wife, Teresa Thompson of St. Pauls, NC, son Bobby Dale Dowless of White Oak, NC, one brother, Ronnie Dowless, and wife Peggy of Bladenboro, and five grandchildren, Joey and Luke Dowless, Bristol Walters, Weston Thompson, and Kassidy Thompson.
Dale was an upbeat, loving guy who cherished his family, friends, and the fellowship he had with them. A jack of all trades, Dale was always tinkering away on something or looking for an antique. Over the years, he collected an array of objects. When not tinkering, you could find him watching NASCAR, riding his bike or his motorcycle and when his son was little, down by the fishing hole. Dale loved life and he was a joy to be around. His family and friends will miss his cheerful disposition and his ability to fix about anything.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 1, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the Henry Allen Cemetery with the Reverend Jerry Beck officiating. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Ronnie and Peggy Dowless, 1437 Paul Brisson Rd, Bladenboro, NC 28320.
