1951-2025

King City, MO: Dale Lee Holeman, 73, of King City, Mo, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, November 12, 2025

Born December 29, 1951, in St. Joseph, MO., to Jack and Mary Lou Holeman, Dale graduated from King City R-1 in 1970 and served in the Missouri National Guard from 1970 to 1976.

He married Joy Sue Rainey on June 6, 1971, in Gentryville, MO. Devoted to Joy until his last breath, Dale built a life of service - to his family, his land and his community.

For more than 50 years, Dale worked the soil of Gentry and DeKalb counties alongside his father and son, raising cattle and hogs on the family farm. A member of the Missouri Young Farmers Association, he found purpose in the rhythm of the seasons and the legacy of the land.

Dale's commitment to service extended beyond the fields. As a longtime member of American Legion Post 132 in King City, he believed deeply in honoring those who served. He volunteered tirelessly to provide military funeral honors for veterans across northwest Missouri, ensuring no service member was laid to rest without recognition.

Music was Dale's gift to others. A lifelong member of Hammer Memorial United Methodist Church, he shared his voice in Sunday services, annual cantatas and at funerals for friends and neighbors - offering comfort through song when words weren't enough.
Dale is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joy; three children, son Basil [Amanda] Holeman, King City, MO, daughters Jackie [Shannon] Price, Trenton, MO., Jessie [Brent] Homerding, Topeka, Kan. Grandchildren Joseph Walker, Ailee Sanders, Xavier Homerding, Sebastian Homerding, Lucy Price, Betsy Price and Layla Homerding. Great grandchildren Addison Sanders. Siblings Susan [Don] Barton, Agency, Mo., Beverly [Fred] Mercer, Gower, MO., Gary [Charlotte] Holeman, St. Joseph, MO., and Kathleen Holeman (Steve Potter), St. Joseph, MO., brothers in law, sisters-in-law nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mary Lou Holeman.

Dale will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15 at Hammer Memorial United Methodist Church, King City, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, King City, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow in King City Cemetery, King City, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Mosaic Life Care Foundation in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, King City, MO 64463.
