STURGIS, MICH. – DALE M. HOLTZ age 77 of Sturgis, Michigan died Thursday May 20, 2004 at the Sturgis Hospital.

He was born November 6, 1926 in Sturgis, Michigan a son to Albert & Cleo (Dunafin) Holtz.

Dale had resided in Sturgis his whole life and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1944.

On December 30, 1950 he married Estella Hahn at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis.

In 1984 Dale retired from the Michigan Gas Utilities Company after 29 years of employment.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. Dale was a veteran of W.W.II earning the rank of Corporal and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Estella, 3 Sons and daughter-in-law, Robert & Donna Holtz of Kalamazoo, MI, Brent Holtz of Kalamazoo, MI and Glenn Holtz of Centreville, MI, 4 Grandchildren, Karrie Holtz, Michael Holtz, Melissa Holtz and Stacy Holtz, 1 Sister, Caroline & Nelson Wooster of Sturgis, 1 Brother, Albert & Helen Holtz of Sturgis and several nieces and nephews.

His Parents, 1 Daughter, Nancy Holtz, 1 Brother, Charles Holtz and 1 Sister, Sharon Holtz preceded him in death.

Friends and relatives may call at the HACKMAN-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis after 2:00 P.M. Sunday where the family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services celebrating the life of Dale M. Holtz will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. The Revs. Calvin Kolzow and Michael Klafehn will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mr. Holtz’s memory consider the Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
