Dale Ison was born August 26, 1956 in Bremerton, WA. He was raised and lived in Kitsap County most of his life. He spent his early years with his parents, Merrill Ison and Joyce Ison-Angel and siblings Debbie, Donna, Dorene, and Lyn. During this time he enjoyed roaming the neighborhood with his friends and the family joke was there wasn't a window in the neighborhood safe from him. He attended Haddon Elementary, Coontz Junior High, and West High School in Bremerton. He worked a variety of jobs following high school in construction, at a lumberyard, and commercial fishing in Dutch Harbor Alaska.

Dale enjoyed motorcycles - both tinkering with them and riding them. The family lake home was a refuge throughout the 80s and 90s with fireworks off the dock probably his favorite event. He also found great joy in his cats. This was particularly helpful as they were loving companions while he dealt with physical health challenges in his later years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Lyn. He is survived by his life partner and devoted caregiver, Ruth Jobes, daughter Charlea Patterson and her family, siblings Debbie (Chris) Lemke, Donna (Rick) Martin, and Dorene Ison, and multiple nieces and nephews.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Michael Medical Center - Silverdale that cared for him during an extended stay. Your kindness and compassion is appreciated.
